The project
A secondary school in Coventry needed new LED lighting for a theatre used for everything from weekend rehearsals to full performances in front of a live audience.
Warwickshire Electrical installed customisable, dimmable lighting to suit these different uses, completing the work over one weekend to keep disruption to a minimum.
The lighting needed to adapt to the way the theatre was being used. Rehearsals and audience performances called for different lighting levels, making flexibility and dimming central to the installation.
Access to the fittings above the tiered seating was the main installation challenge.
Specialist access equipment was used to reach these positions and carry out the work. Organising this access was an important part of planning the weekend installation.

All installation work was completed over one weekend to keep disruption to a minimum.
This project concerns the new LED room lighting. The existing theatrical spotlights, rigging, projection and audio equipment visible in the photographs are outside the confirmed scope.
The new LED lighting provides adjustable lighting levels to support the theatre’s varied use, from rehearsals to live-audience performances.
